Our Mission
Video Trust is a membership association that educates library professionals on best practices for visual media acquisition, usage, preservation and access, and advocates on their behalf with producers and distributors. We believe in the power of film and video to tell stories, enrich lives, and are united in our commitment for all to learn from this important part of our cultural record.
An organization for professionals involved with film in cultural heritage institutions
Video Trust is a 501c nonprofit membership organization that fosters mutual support networks for cultural heritage professionals involved in film, that develops continuous learning opportunities, and provides advocacy for film and film professionals in cultural heritage institutions.
A Broad Community
Our community is made of of academic and public librarians, archivists, preservationists, and distributors working together to safeguard long-term access to film-based cultural history.
Our members hold a variety of roles, including electronic resource librarians, collection developers, acquisition professionals, catalogers, and more.
