A joint project of Video Trust and ALA’s Film and Media Round Table, this Working group will research and draft guidance on the newest ADA rules for film. This guidance should identify the relevant section(s) of the ADA rule for film, define key terms and concepts in a manner that is relatable for the average media librarian, identify impacts on our collections and work, and, if relevant, identify advocacy points and actions media librarians can take to ensure their collections and work are in compliance.
Anticipated start: June or July 2026.
Anticipated end: November 2026.
We are actively seeking volunteers for this working group. Please write to videoandlibraries@gmail.com and lolzcarter@berkeley.edu by June 8, 2026 if you are interested in being part of this research team.
